On Saturday 17th November 2012, we held what has now become an annual open art exhibition in St. Andrews Church Hall, Peterborough.
A Total of over 250 paintings were on display, not only in watercolour but also oils, acrylics, collages and mixed media. Andy Lowings once again provided the entertainment with his harp music and was joined by one of our class who has been receiving tuition from him. The members of the art class turned up trumps again with their mouth watering selection of homemade cakes which were much enjoyed by the visitors to the exhibition.
Everyone from the class worked hard to make the day such a success and we were very pleased a grand total of £807.34 was raised for charity as follows:-
|Sales and Exhibits||£345.70|
|Raffles at Art Class||£42.00|
|Raffle at Exhibition||£122.00|
A very big thank you to everyone who supported this year’s event in aid of St Andrew’s Church and The Peterborough Alzheimer’s Society.
Cheques for £403.67 were presented to them during our Christmas Party on 21st December 2012. We have received a Thank You letter from Alzheimer’s Peterborough for our contribution.
Photographs of the event, taken by a number of our members can be seen in the following slide show :-
