Congratulations are due to everyone who helped in the organisation of our third annual Art Exhibition held on 14th November 2009 in aid of Age Concern, Peterborough.
Seventy-nine artists with ages ranging from 12 year old Adam Hargrave to others in their eighties exhibited 300 items of their work. A wide range of painting styles were demonstrated along with several imaginative ceramic pieces.
One hundred and seventy visitors enjoyed the exhibition in the relaxed atmosphere created by the music of harpist Andy Lowings. His enthusiasm in describing the harp and providing tuition to anyone interested enhanced the occasion. You can hear a short clip of his music recorded at the exhibition in the three slideshows below. More information on his project to recreate the ‘Lyre of Ur’ can be found at www.lyre-of-ur.com.
Refreshments organised by Valerie and David McNeill provided the opportunity to sit down and discuss the show with friends.
At the end of the day, Pam Wolverson our treasurer for the event was able to hand over to John Dewis representing Age Concern, Peterborough a total of £962.20 comprising of:-
|Exhibit entries and sales||£586.70|
|Less expenses (Harpist)||£40.00|
